Quality Assurance

The goal of Saturn Systems quality control program is producing quality deliverables through execution of time tested processes. Saturn Systems quality assurance approach provides consistent, measurable program performance supporting SeaPort-e, while maintaining alignment to the SeaPort-e goal of providing quality products and services to NAVSEA and affiliated commands. Our approach to Quality Assurance is structured, yet maintains enough flexibility to conform to the varied needs of NAVSEA and other customers.

At Saturn Systems, quality is not an afterthought. Rather, it is an integral part of our culture. We understand that quality is everyone's responsibility and that total quality is the only acceptable standard. We develop processes and establish measures to drive performance improvements to achieve mutual business objectives, and we will bring that focus and effort to the SeaPort-e contract.

Quality Assurance Goals

Saturn Systems has established the following quality control goals for this program:

  • Work in a collaborative manner to align all personnel to the achievement of a single goal: quality products.
  • Establish performance measures that ensure effective, predictable outcomes while demonstrating commitment to work in partnership with the SeaPort-e customer.
  • Objectively evaluate adherence of the performed process and associated work products and services to applicable process descriptions, standards, and procedures.
  • Proactively measure, report, communicate, and collaborate with the SeaPort-e customer on the quality levels of processes and project work products.
  • Consistently ensure the on-time delivery of all products and services.
Quality Assurance Plan

The Quality Assurance Plan applies to the entire Saturn Systems team, our teaming Partners, and all the services and products we produce as defined in the Task Orders.

The objective of the Quality Assurance Plan is to describe the roles and responsibilities, and the policies and procedures that ensure consistency and quality throughout all project areas. Saturn Systems has defined the following set of major objectives for our SeaPort-e Quality Assurance Plan, derived from SeaPort-e requirements of having an inspection system, a process for critical defects and recurring defects avoidance, maintaining inspection records, and assessing customer feedback:

  • Develop and execute quantifiable and repeatable methodologies for monitoring performance.
  • Evaluate and ensure adherence to documented project standards.
  • Monitor, collect, maintain, and measure performance metrics.
  • Provide SeaPort-e access to the performance information.
  • Communicate status of project with SeaPort-e counterparts via reporting and collaboration tools, Monthly Status Reports, and e-mails.
  • Work with SeaPort-e customers to tweak performance metrics as necessary to conform with the evolving needs of SeaPort-e customers and programs.
  • Track and communicate non-compliance issues to help ensure resolution.
  • Develop and maintain process flows and internal controls.
  • Identify and correct process deficiencies and/or data quality problems to prevent errors from cascading through down-stream processes.
  • Define the timelines for correcting deliverables identified by SeaPort-e.
  • Monitor and document corrective work.
  • Perform quality reviews of all task orders.
  • Develop and maintain metrics against contractual performance measures.
